My name is Emily McDonald and I am an 11 year old girl. I have an amazing dad who is surprisingly a YO-YO champion. He has 2 Guinness World Records and is so great at what he does. His YO-YO name is Fast Eddy McDonald. A while ago, I got a turn to share the spot light with him! We were at a show for the hottest toys of summer and I got to show off the new Yomega Power Brain XP YO-YO. It was one of the coolest things I had ever done! The Yomega Power Brain XP has a “smart switch”. When you turn it ON, the YO-YO returns automatically into your hand when it slows down. I love this option because it lets you learn very quickly for beginners like me. You can either throw it into a sleeper or an easy up and down. A sleeper is when you throw the YO-YO down very hard so it stays in a spin at the bottom.
If you turn the smart switch OFF it allows you to use a free spinning feature. That is very cool, I have never ever been able to use a yo-yo, but this was easy!! It only took me 20 minutes to learn how to throw the YO-YO and how to do a sleeper! I got to be on TV with him showing everyone how to use it and what it was about. This gave me an opportunity to meet other kids and connect with them by showing them how the YO-YO worked. They learned just as quickly as I did. I loved being in the YO-YO business with my dad for the day and I really hope I will get that chance again. Watch for my next blog about another new toy!!
